1. Make sure that each system is on the same workgroup/domain. a. Right Click on "My Computer" b. Click on "Properties" then the "Computer Name" tab c. Make sure the Workgroup/Domain is the same on each system. d. Make note of the Computer Name section for the ping check 2. Make sure each system can ping each other back and forth a. Click on "Start" then click "Run" and type in "cmd" then hit Enter b. Now type in "ping COMPUTER_NAME" and "ping IP_ADDRESS" c. Make sure that you get a response in each direction (from server to client and client to server) 3. Check to make sure that the appropriate enterprise services are running. a. Check to make sure that the EnterpriseClient.exe is running on the client machines. i. Hit Control+Alt+Delete then click on Processes and look for enterpriseclient.exe ii. You can sort the Processes alphabetically by clicking on the Processes column. b. Make sure that EnterpriseServer.exe is running on the server machine 4. Make sure that each system is running the same version of CRE a. Within CRE, at the log in screen click "File" then "About" b. Make sure the version and build number are the same on each staiton. 5. Make sure that no two systems have the same station ID number and DO have the same store ID number. a. You can find the station ID underneath the logo on the main login screen of CRE. b. You can find the store ID by clicking File then Station/Store ID and clicking "Set this station's Store ID"
